Zip-lining with Louise

Good morning! Louise here and I am very excited to share my first project on the Quick Quotes blog!

I have adventurous children so I thought this layout would give me a chance to share a bit about about myself and also highlight two wonderful new Quick Quotes collections: Navigator and Far and Away. These two collections use a similar color scheme so they are easy to mix and match. I am afraid of heights, so it was surprising that my family talked me into zip-lining. Many of the phrases on the Far and Away Quotes and Phrases sheet seemed appropriate to the situation, but I settled on this one.

I die-cut the title letters from generic white cardstock which had been rubbed with the Bermuda PowerPuff Chalking Ink. Although a bit messy, this technique gives the letters a rich color with a bit of texture.

Since I had a lot of photos from this adventure, I created this companion page which holds more pictures and my journaling. I added a few more sayings from the Far and Away Quotes and Phrases sheet.

All of the papers on both pages are from the Navigator paper pack. Papers, quotes, and embellishments are edged with PowderPuff Chalking Inks in Bermuda, Tropical Punch, and Navy.

Rather than put on my journaling on plain white cardstock, I used a light section from one of the patterned papers. I chose this particular section because the pattern is subtle enough that it doesn't distract from the journaling. This is the same paper that I used behind the title on the first page.

Crazy Room

These photos were taken inside a hotel room we stayed at on our anniversary trip. The outside of the hotel looked perfectly normal, as you can see in the small photo.

I used sketch #307 from sketches in thyme.  Papers are mostly from Basic Grey, plus Heidi Swapp embellishments, Crafter's Workshop template (clocks), and Quick Quotes inks.

thanks for looking!

Pomerol

For the New Year, I allowed myself to open the Graphic 45 French Country collector's edition. It's one of my all-time favorite collections and I am so glad they brought it back. It's easier to scrap with a collection I like this much.

This page is about a winery in France. It's kind of a sad story. It's a small family owned winery in France, and there was a frost the winter before which wiped out their entire crop for that year. (Other wineries nearby lost some, but not all). Furthermore, they had just upgraded a lot of their equipment. The grand-daughter did the tour (she was probably in her 20s).
I used sketch #144 from sketch-n-scrap.

Thanks for looking and Happy New Year!
